The former Admiral pub on the Rock Ferry waterfront reopened as as a restaurant after lying neglected for 5 years in June 2012, under it’s original name Refreshment Rooms. It was the original Refreshment Rooms for the cross-Mersey ferry in the 1880s. Over the past 8 years or so we have forged a great reputation for good home cooked food at remarkable value for money prices.
The space is light and airy with many original features enhanced by the installation of a chandelier from the Cunard building, light fittings from the Adelphi Hotel and Lewis’s of Liverpool and a solid mahogany bar top which started life in the science block of Wirral Grammar School. The walls are full of period photos of the area in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Though a little out of the way, you can find us nestled along the shoreline with easy access by road. We have a nice sunny beer garden with a kids play area dominated by our sunken pirate ship and great river views across to Liverpool. Walkers, cyclists, families are all welcome.
